They stupidly confuse "entitlement" (seriously being overused and misused at this point that it has lost all meaning and validity) with choice, and choice is what all customers have. I know ppl make it sound like indie devs don't have an option, but we are currently in an era where there are a plethora of publishers to choose from, a range of pubs that publish games on multiple systems and storefronts at that. If I were a dev I'd be asking straight away what they plan to do with a game I wanted published, and if it meant an exclusivity deal, I'd simply go find another publisher. It's primarily because none of these indie devs even bother to ask the publisher they sign up with, on what they plan to do with their games. We will come to an era of "free games" or game subscriptions, a dark sky over indie games. I don't understand how an editor or developer can make this choice. There are plenty of other great games to play on pc. I will not support this strategy in any way, nor will I spend my money on the games involved in these deals. Devaluating existing storefronts instead of trying to build a better alternative is litteraly the worst way to "compete" from a consumers point of view. Every game money hatted by Epic goes straight to my ignore list. Taking the shady offer of Epic and hypocrite Sweeney is Imho a save way to say, that they don't want any support. Would it been up here on Steam (or somewhere aside Epic) I might have, so it's impossible for me. If you want to support them grab the game now, do it for them, screw the Epic controversy I CAN'T support them, cos they decided for exclusivity in a store where I can't buy. It has already been said that V1.0 will release both on Steam and epic, and at the end of the game the only thing that matters is that the game is good or not. They are using the free version of unity which screams Indie game devs, they reall want the best for their game. These guys are extremely passionate: I am on their discord and are super responsive about feedback and roadmap questions. The developers made a deal with epic exlusively so they could have a bigger budget to put in the game and make it as close as possibile to their vision.
